Not for Profit Drug Store supporting Cancer & Dialysis patients

HELP has been supporting Cancer & Dialysis patients through its various support schemes for the last 10 years. HELP focuses on a bringing a holistic view of the Environment around a community, seeing it as an overall eco system. Since 2019, we have extended our support to paralyzed (bedridden) patients, some of whom were the breadwinners of their family,

Much of our financial support to patient’s ends up for paying their drug bills of which 40% ends up with the various layers of the drug distribution network. We already have tie-up with some manufactures through their Corporate Social Responsibility by which we get their drugs at 30% discount, which we are able to entirely pass on to the cancer patients.

Our working relationship with Regional Cancer Center (RCC) and other likeminded professionals of the medical fraternity has given us leads into the existing system through which we can avail lifesaving drugs at reduced rates such that the benefit can be passed on to patients  who are hard pressed to foot their medicinal costs. Instead of providing financial support we are working towards setting up a Not for Profit Drug Store in Kollam. This could result in we can pass on the profit from the sales directly to the patients, thus the savings from the medicinal costs would be a big boost to their home budgets.

Operations Mode: We will be stocking only the common medicines. Any drug ordered via phone or in person will be made available the next day or rather within 24 hours. We are confident that we are setting up the cheapest drug store in Kollam and this significant intervention would be a boon to all residents of Kollam. Some of the cancer drugs can be made available to patients at costs even lower than that of Regional Cancer Centre.
